Booking Terms & Conditions

In booking a program with The Gascony Cookery School, you acknowledge acceptance of our general terms and conditions. Please take your time to review them.

Deposits

To confirm your reservation, you need to pay a non-refundable deposit of £200 per person. Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of the booking form and payment to The Gascony Cookery School.

Balance/ Final payment

The balance is due 6 weeks before the start of the program. If the final payment has not been received by then, The Gascony Cookery School reserves the right to cancel bookings and retain your deposit. We accept payment by electronic transfer. Confirmation of your booking is made when your payment has been received by our bank.

Cancellation/ Refunds

In the event of cancellation by The Gascony Cookery School, your deposit and payments will be returned in full. If you cancel the booking, full refund minus the deposit per person applies where written notice of cancellation is received more than 60 days prior to the course. Cancellations received 42 to 60 days prior to arrival will be subject to a cancellation charge of 50%. No refund will be made for cancellations received less than 42 days prior to date of arrival. Bookings may not be transferred to the following year and in the event that you cancel once the course has commenced, there will be no refund on the unused portion.  Bookings are non-transferable.  Cancellations due to medical reasons can be covered by travel insurance.  We reserve the right to modify or cancel a program prior to commencement for any reason, including insufficient number of participants.

Responsibility & Restrictions

The Gascony Cookery School is not liable for any damages, accidents, injuries, risks, losses, delays, or expenses caused by our suppliers, nor for problems caused by conditions out of our control. These conditions include but are not limited to: accidents, war, terrorism, civil unrest, sickness, theft, fire, and inopportune weather. The Gascony Cookery School reserves the right to refuse to accept any person as a participant of any program or to cancel any program or a tour if circumstances warrant.

Transport

The Gascony Cookery School does not book or provide any air, land or sea travel arrangements for participants, and has no responsibility therefore. If a tour or program is cancelled by The Gascony Cookery School or its representatives or suppliers, the costs of any travel arrangements you may have made will not be reimbursed.

Travel documentation

We do not arrange for visas, driving licenses, passports or any other travel documents. It is the responsibility of each tour participant to have a valid passport, required visas and any other travelling documents required by governmental regulations. The Gascony Cookery School is not liable or responsible for problems related to these documents, or the lack of them, or for the recovery of lost documents. We highly recommend to each participant to bring photocopies of his/her passport, visa, driver licence and insurance papers on the trip, but to maintain them separately from the originals.

Travel Insurance

The Gascony Cookery School does not provide or write travel insurance. On booking a cookery holiday program, we ask that participants provide their own personal travel insurance. Such insurance should cover: full medical expenses, personal baggage, personal accident, accidental loss or damage to property, cancellation of a program due to any reason, personal liability, legal expenses and emergency.

Jurisdition

These terms and conditions and a participant’s acceptance of them by booking a program through us, are governed in France by French law, and both parties shall submit to the jurisdiction of French courts at all time. Of course, we highly prefer to resolve issues through clear communications, understanding of responsibilities, proper manners and good customer service.
